You can try reinstalling Reader, or run it and go to Edit > Preferences > Internet and put a tick next to ‘Display PDF in browser’. If the option is already ticked, deselect and then reselect it.
If you use Firefox, go to Tools Options, click the Applications tab and make sure Reader is selected for PDF documents.
In Internet Explorer go to Tools > Manage Add-ons and make sure Adobe PDF Link Helper is enabled
